I recently realized that I have one more package of beef left in my freezer from 1 quarter (of beef) that I put in 4 month ago. (Some of this beef was given away as gifts.) The value of this beef was $550.00. This was the actual amount that my paying customer's paid for their quarter of this same beef.
If you divide $550 by 4 months that's $ 137.50 spent on beef per month. If you divide that by 4 weeks in a month, the cost per week spent on beef is $ 34.37. That is a pretty good bargain for a family of 5.
